About our Organization

Ethics in Electronics was founded in 1994, years before the electronic industry started to care about SDG & ETHICS. Producer Lenthe Foundation in the Netherlands started that year raising awareness by triggering columns and articles in Elektor, a magazine and platform for European engineers. Nowadays Lenthe supports communication managers of middle sized companies with research, content and awards. Our ambition is to inspire and assist them in making transparent (internal and external) corporate ethical communication.

Our Milestones

Key Moments Shaping Our Journey Towards Ethical Innovation.

1

2014: Our Journey Starts

The journey of Ethics and Electronics began when Elektor, a pioneering platform for electronic design launched in 1961 in Amsterdam, noticed a growing concern among its professional community. Approximately 10,000 of the 300,000 pro makers were increasingly worried about the sustainability and ethical implications of their profession and industry. Responding to this, Lenthe introduced a dedicated section focusing on ethics and electronics in Elektor.

2021: A Bold Step Forward

In November 2021, Elektor took a bold step forward by launching the World Ethical Electronics Forum (WEEF), a yearly event dedicated to ethical practices in electronics. The success and immediate impact of WEEF confirmed its vital role in the industry.
